About ISIEMS

Event Overview

ISIEMS is an international conference where government engineers and scientists and their contractors in the explosive effects community gather to delve into cutting-edge research, share groundbreaking innovations and meet potential collaborators from around the world. The first ISIEMS took place in 1983 and was a partnership between Branch InfraInfrastruktur IV 4 of the Federal Office of Bundeswehr Infrastructure, Environmental Protection and Services in Germany and the former Defense Nuclear Agency in the USA (which became the Defense Threat Reduction Agency). Since then, ISIEMS has taken place every two years, in locations that alternate between Germany and the USA. Today, ISIEMS in the USA is organized by a committee with representatives from numerous defense agencies and with generous support from the University of Florida. 

Nashville, Tennessee, is renowned as the heart of country music, earning it the nickname "Music City." Home to the Country Music Hall of Fame and the Grand Ole Opry, it boasts a vibrant live music scene spanning various genres. Beyond music, Nashville is known for its Southern hospitality, its fiery hot chicken, and a rapidly growing culinary scene.
